SpaGuard Brominating Tablets

SpaGuard Brominating Tablets are an excellent alternative to chlorinating products, and are ideal for spas and indoor heated pools. Brominating Tablets have several features that make them desirable in these instances. They are effective in wider pH range than chlorinating tablets, dissolve more slowly than chlorinating tablets, and have a lower odour than chlorinating tablets.

When used with automatic feeders, Brominating Tablets are ideal for heated commercial systems. Brominating Tablets also have algaecidal properties, making them perfect for pools with chronic algae problems. The ability to regenerate active bromine compounds out of inactive bromide salt makes maximum use of the sanitising ability of the product.

To use Brominating Tablets:

To use Brominating Tablets in a pool, it is essential that you use an automatic Brominator. Chlorinators are not acceptable and a proper bromine residual cannot be established by using brominating tablets in a skimmer or floater.

  1. Follow label directions for balancing and shocking.
  2. Establish a total bromine residual by starting the flow through brominator.
  3. Adjust the brominator feed rate to maintain a total bromine residual of 2.0 – 4.0 ppm for residential pools and 4.0 – 6.0 ppm for commercial pools.

To use Brominating Tablets in a spa, a floater should be used.

  1. Follow label directions for balancing and shocking.
  2. Fill the floater completely full and open to allow adequate flow through the floater.
  3. Monitor the total bromine level for several days and shock when necessary to maintain the total bromine residual at 2.0 – 4.0 ppm for residential spas and 4.0 – 6.0 for commercial spas.

NOTE: Avoid physical contact with product. Follow safety information on label instructions. Open in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing fumes. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.
