Product Fact Sheet: BioGuard Power Floc

Product Features:

  • Non-alum, polymeric cationic coagulant.
  • Concentrated.
  • Safe for all pool types.
  • The greater the amount of debris in the water, the faster Power Floc works.

Benefits:

  • Makes water clear and sparkling.
  • Settles suspended particles to the bottom for removal by vacuum.
  • Works three times faster than previous flocculants like Liqui-Floc.
  • Treats twice the water than the previous flocculants.

Application Instructions – Sand Filters:

  1. Shake well before using.
  2. Clean skimmer, hair and lint pot, and backwash and/or chemically clean filter.  CAUTION: Under no circumstances should the filter pressure be allowed to exceed the value recommended by the filter manufacturer.
  3. Adjust pH to 7.5 to 8.0 for best results.
  4. Remove skimmer basket and any products (e.g. Smart Sticks) from skimmer.
  5. Apply at a rate of 60 mL per 10,000 litres. For extremely cloudy pools (can’t see the bottom of the deep end) use 120 mL per 10,000 litres.
  6. With pump on and filter valve in “Recirculate” or “Whirlpool” position, slowly pour required amount of Power Floc into skimmer.
  7. For filters without these settings, adjust to “Filter” position, dilute Power Floc into large plastic bucket (Do not exceed 60 mL of Power Floc in 4 litres of water), then pour evenly across surface of pool water.
  8. Replace skimmer basket and allow pump to circulate water for 1 – 2 hours to distribute Power Floc evenly throughout pool.
  9. Shut pump off and allow Power Floc to settle particulate matter for 12 – 24 hours. Do not disturb pool water during this time.
  10. Slowly vacuum settled material directly to waste. CAUTION: Do not vacuum debris through filter. As settling may continue over several days, repeat vacuuming where necessary.
  11. Backwash and chemically clean filter with Filter Brite, then reset to normal filter cycle.
  12. Adjust pH to 7.4 – 7.6 and resume normal pool operation.

Application Instructions – Cartridge Filters:

  1. Remove cartridge filter element from filter tank.
  2. Reassemble filter tank without filter element.
  3. With pump on, slowly pour required amount of Power Floc into skimmer.
  4. After adding Power Floc, allow pump to circulate for 1 – 2 hours.
  5. Shut pump off and allow Power Floc to settle particulate matter for 12 – 24 hours. Do not disturb pool water during this time.
  6. Slowly vacuum settled material directly to waste. CAUTION: Do not vacuum debris through filter. As settling may continue over several days, repeat vacuuming where necessary.
  7. Backwash and chemically clean filter with Filter Brite, then reset to normal filter cycle.
  8. Adjust pH to 7.4 – 7.6 and resume normal pool operation.
