The following Technical Information Bulletin was prepared to supplement the US Instruction Sheet supplied with the Chlorine Demand Test Station and to make it easier for pool shops to perform their own tests. In the procedure given below, all quantities have been converted to metric units.


Test Station Contents

1. Chlorine Demand Titrating Reagent (sodium thiosulfate)

2. Chlorine Demand Acid Reagent (a dry acid similar to BioGuard Lo’N’Slo)

3. Chlorine Demand Iodide Reagent (potassium iodide)

4. Chlorine Demand Chlorinating Reagent (sodium dichloroisocyanurate)

5. Several empty glass bottles with screw lids, one of which will be labelled "Chlorinated Water"

6. Three spatulas – a small scoop type, a medium cylindrical type and a large spoon type

7. A 10-mL pipette

8. A 10-mL burette unit that screws onto the top of the Titrating Reagent bottle

9. A 50-mL or 100-mL plastic measuring cylinder
