The purpose of this bulletin is to provide a method with in which to remove the potential contaminants from effected pools.

Many pool owners report having major problems with dirty and cloudy pools. The cause of these problems are mainly due to ash fallout and other various contaminants from the fire.

If the effected pool has been in the direct path of the fire, it is likely to have lost a lot of water from, either fire fighting or evaporation and is now most likely full of heavy debris and excessive amount of ash. For this degree of severity , it would be advisable to empty the pool (taking all precautions regarding this procedure) and start all over again. First clean the shell then refilling and balancing the water. Remember to add an oxidiser (Burn Out 35 or Lite) then follow up with an initial dose of Back-Up II Algae Inhibitor, Salt Pool Protector or MSA II, as this is an essential part of the BioGuard 3-Step Program.

For a pools not directly in the path of the fire, but have been affected by ash fallout, the following procedure is recommended to rectify the problem.
